Socially-Conscious Leadership

Reading around and observing the world leaders, I wonder if they understand what socially-conscious leadership really is about.

Socially-conscious leadership is what we need in our world. Leaders who recognise themselves and become warriors for what they are and want to create in the world for the benefit of all, and specially, for the benefit of those who they are serving.

Nowadays, more than ever, we need socially-conscious leaders who lead our countries, regions, communities, organisations, etc through who they are and what they love to create. We need leaders who are the example of that which they want to change; Leaders who understand the needs of others because they themselves had/have the same needs; Leaders who serve others because they are serving themselves through their service; Leaders who understand that in order to guide others, you must first start with yourself.

Socially-conscious leadership starts from within, from the change that the leader wants to see around him/her and by creating it him/herself. Socially-conscious leadership is serving others, and by doing so, serving oneself. The aim is to inspire and empower others through your own example; It is about being the example of what you are talking and what you are guiding others to do. Only through your own experience and impact you are able to empower others to do the same. Otherwise, it is just a mere talk.

The problem is that many of the current leaders are taking over these leadership positions to nurture their ego and wealth. They are not working for the well-being of those they represent, but for themselves: enriched bank-accounts and the increase of power over others, neglecting the real objective of their positions.

This is just generally speaking. Surely, there are leaders who want to change their communities/organizations through their own example. But regretfully, many times these leaders are trapped in a system that is not allowing them to be seen by those who would support them, making the change they envision almost impossible.

Nevertheless, I believe in the Power of Being - freedom to be who we are and create what we love. We do so in dignity and in integrity with who we are. I believe that we all human-beings have the opportunity to lead by example. We do not need to await for others to take the lead, we all can be socially-conscious leaders in whichever position we are assuming in this world, wherever we are, in governments, organizations, at home.

At PiMOV, we call socially-conscious leaders: Socially-conscious change makers. At the end, it is about creating the change you want to see, whoever and wherever you are. You are the example of what you envision. You are the one responsible for what you create for yourself and others. Change starts from within, from the inside-out, and not from the outside-in!

Believe in yourself and in your Power of Being. Don’t let it be succumbed by what you are told to do by someone else who does not know you or is not even walking their talk. Become your leader, transform that what you want to change through your own change, become the example for others and stay in integrity towards yourself. As my partner in co-creation Dr Ruben Perczek would say: “Fight for your game as a warrior that recognises yourself and wants to win in your life!”.

Become the Positive iMPACT warrior you are, in integrity and respect to yourself and what you envision for your life and ultimately, this world.

That’s true socially-conscious leadership!
